Our food bank is available between 11 am and 2 pm weekdays, no appointment required.
We aim to treat all foodbank clients with respect and compassion, providing emergency short term food support for individuals and families. If transport is an issue, we may be able to assist in certain circumstances.
Food parcels consist of three days’ worth of meals, and other basic necessities. Food is sourced in a variety of ways including supermarket donation bins, Kiwi Harvest, conference contributions, members of the public who drop food in to our shops, Young Vinnies in schools, contribution baskets in Catholic parishes.
If you are in a position to contribute to our food bank we would be very grateful. Donations can be dropped at our central Dunedin shop, 452 George Street. The bank account details are St Vincent de Paul Dunedin 03-0883-0186960-00.
Items we are regularly low on are rice, pasta, cereal, sugar, school lunch items, tea, coffee, biscuits, spreads, washing powder, dishwash and toiletries.
